Volz-Microconnctor-System (VMS®)

We supply all our servos with our VMS® Microconnector System.

VMS®
is our standard for obtaining safe and reliable servo connections making our servos both easier and safer to use. Soldering of connections, with its inherent risks, is no longer necessary.

The criteria for the development of this system were: protection against short-circuit, smallest possible connector size of only 7 x 4 x 10 mm (0,3" x 0,15" x 0,4" see photo above), safe lock in position, low contact resistance even when subjected to vibration or distortion, highest possible current capacity , high retention force, extended durability, high resistance to humidity, heat, thermal shock and vibrations.

The photo above explains how the VMS® system works: each servo comes with a 3 cm (1,2") long lead with attached VMS® microsocket connector at the end.

An adapter lead of approximately 25 cm (10") length, which is included in the purchase of each servo, allows the modeler to connect the servo with any receiver brand such as JR / Futaba, Sanwa / Airtronics (not shown on the picture), Multiplex and Simprop.

Alternatively we can supply a short adapter of only 10 cm lenght (4 ") for JR / Futaba in case you need to safe some extra weight.

Extension leads are available in lengths of 30, 50, 80, 100 and 150 cm (12", 20", 32", 39" and 59" ) and can be put inbetween servo and adapter lead.
All extensions are provided as twisted wire for reducing electromagnetic interferences (EMI-suppression).

Servoleads of more than 50 cm (19") length can create interference problems as they may operate as an antenna. So for any servoconnection of more than 50 cm (19") length we accordingly recommend using filters that should be placed as close as possible to the receiver.

Using our toroidal cores (# 12.3) such filters can be easily made (see photo) by placing five windings around the core of each adapter wire. This is the easy and affordable way of avoiding EMI and interference problems. Make sure to be on the safe side!

We supply a 10 cm long lead with attached VMS® microplug (# 12.1) for using our servos in wings with preinstalled wires and a 5 cm long lead with an attached VMS® microsocket for those who want to use our Microconnector System VMS® with other servo brands.
